Its been more than 400 days and the war in Ukraine is still raging on. People from time to time have shown their solidarity in various ways for the Ukrainian people.
Now a new trend has caught on among the programmer community worldwide. Programmers are wearing their support for Ukraine with the classic 'declare variables not war' T-shirt. This T-shirt has specially become a common sighting in the streets of Poland, Germany and all over Europe.
To fulfill this new demand, a new Indian startup called Xavi's World has stood up to the occasion. Xavi's World has a variant of the 'declare variables not war' T-shirt in Ukrainian colors.
T-shirts of this quote are being ordered by the boxes at Xavi's World especially from USA and Europe. Considering the fact that shipping from India to Europe, US or other worldwide locations is uphill for one T-shirt piece, people are tagging along to order 10 - 15 T-shirts at a time to offset the shipping costs. The T-shirt is Unisex so can be worn by both men and women.
"We in our community have ordered 25 T-shirts. We have taken in quite a few Ukrainian friends in our locality after the war broke out. Many of them are software developers like me. We wear this T-shirt just as a symbol of solidarity" says a full-stack developer guy in one of the local news outlets from Warsaw, Poland.
"I ordered 4 boxes filled with T-shirts and distributed it among my fellow Ukrainians. It is a symbol of our unity among the programmer community when we stand together for our country in our own silent way" says a female techie in a local news outlet from Silicon Valley, USA.
In Goa, India, at Xavi's World, the startup producing these T-shirts, the T-shirts are flying off the shelves for this particular design.
This is turning out to be a movement in itself where people in the thousands are showing their support by just wearing a T-shirt. Truly the message is loud and clear around the worldwide programmer community and it is louder when they silently wear it on their sleeves.
